Vakils is affiliated with Bowne & Co. Inc., New York, the world's largest financial printers and among the global leaders in the management and dissemination of information. Based in Palo Alto, California, the company has co-promoted Softype Inc., which provides solutions in the area of web enabled document lifecycle management and has assisted several enterprises in the areas of document conversion, paper management, document control and the improvement of business workflow.

Tulika

Vakils is involved in the distribution of Tulika. An independent publishing house based in Chennai, Tulika offers a wide range of children's books. There are folktales and fables - of kings and queens, bright chameleons and spirited peppercorns - and a range of environmental stories in both the fiction and non-fiction category. There is also an exclusive collection of bilingual books developed in response to the needs of children, growing up in a multilingual society. These books have paired English with a regional language, such as Hindi/Marathi, and the text is kept deliberately simple. Tulika's picture books, with diverse illustration styles, reflecting a strong Indian sensibility, are truly a visual treat.

Pratham

Vakils is involved in distribution of Pratham Books, a not-for-profit NGO based in Delhi and Bangalore, that has a large range of books that were specially created for Pratham community libraries all over the country. Their Hindi and Marathi books have been fashioned for early readers, with minimal text and bold, eye catching illustrations, to encourage an interest in regional languages. They are well produced, attractive and glossy, and are certain to stimulate learning. Pratham's books are very nominally priced (eg. A set of four books priced at Rs.100).
